Benjamin Franklin’s 13 Virtues, #9. Moderation. Avoid extremes. Forbear resenting injuries so much as you think they deserve. After a good ball game, it’s entertaining to watch them interview the players or coaches. Many of the interviews are predictable with the cliches they will use. But one common statement that I find a lot of the great players make is that try not to get too high or too low. They just keep going. Michael Jordan made more game winners than anybody else, but he also missed more game winners. The winningest coaches also lost more games than any other coaches.
I know I’m usually my own worst critic. Benjamin Franklin advises to not resent your injuries or weaknesses so much as you might think they deserve.
Great advice.
